January, the new beginning we all need. 2018!
But what do you do to get through the hump of no more holiday cheer and short rainy days? Or should I say windy?!
Here is my own routine that keeps my sanity at bay, and a list of Healthier Living classes offered at our clinic through the month of January:
I leave my Christmas decorations up for probably the first three weeks. Anything colorful and woodland-y stays, but a few of my things make their way slowly back into boxes. And most years we find a time to head out to the beach! Oregon beaches in the winter can be a bit of a hit or miss, but we usually luck out with beautiful clear sunny weather. A nice fleece jacket and we can enjoy walks on the beach, coffee and pastries from whatever new shop has popped up. Explore some antique malls or the outlets. And of course, friends. Some of our dearest friends moved to the beach about 5 years ago and January is a wonderful time to go see them. Celebrate belated birthdays, play new games, and watch all the wildlife that lives around the river behind their house. Before we know it February is here and gone and spring is slowly creeping in. Here we are with a group of friends spending a weekend at the beach for New Years. It was marvelous weather, great food, and even better company!
